Wow! This is one hell of a well-detailed Princess Luna Picture! I rated this 4.5 stars because I have seen more graphic before. But this is beautiful! I also like how you put her in the background to fit exactly the way it should, because she is the princess of the night you know. Originality is 2 stars due to it being a fanart, sorry for that, but I'm only being honest. The technique is similar to Lauren Fausts, except originally there was no shading effects, which the show was always missing, And the impact is perfect for any MLP fan or Luna fans! Good work and keep it up!
Its a peice that certainly has its awesomeness mostly sticking with the show's simple art style which gives it its cute factor. I like how Luna is placed over the moon so she stands out, and the sky is colored a lighter shade than what is most logical so she definitely stands out.
I wonder if it was intended to give her a 'derp' look though. You can see the whites of her eyes on opposite sides so she appears cross-eyed. There's nothing in front of her so she looks pretty dopey. Her eyes are not quite show-accurate for me so her eyes don't realy tell me "Luna". I am aslo feeling a bit iffy about the sharp angle on her chin as I don't recall seeing this in the show, and it suggests a more masculine face for me.
I also wonder how much better this could have been if the composition was different. Luna is dead center in this picture. This peice might feel less static if we followed the rule of thirds, or at the very least, place her off-center. I am also unsure about the arrangement of hef hair as her mane and tail point at opposite directions, suggesting to me that she isn't really moving anywhere despite flying around. The moon's placement also seems very strangely awkward as her feet are dangling right under the edge of the moon. As unsure as I am with how exactly that compositional issues can be solved, I am certain that there may be a better way to arrange your elements. It might make a huge difference... who knows?
